Skien opens the Ibsen Year 2028
In 2028, it will be 200 years since Henrik Ibsen was born. This will be celebrated with great fanfare both at home and abroad. In Norway, Skien has been given the honorable task of being the opening city for the large, national program.

There are both concrete plans and big dreams for Skien in the run-up to the Ibsen Year 2028. Two of the main goals are to open the new Ibsen Library and Communication Center in the anniversary year, and to complete the restoration of Ibsen's childhood home.
