We're going back to the first half of the 18th century. We're going to a family, and in particular three of its daughters. These three and their literary legacy are considered masterpieces of British literature. This time it's the Brontë sisters under the microscope: welcome to "Wuthering Heights - a musical lecture about the Brontë sisters".

The lives of the sisters from Yorkshire in England were stormy at the top. The story of the Brontë family, and perhaps especially the three writer sisters Charlotte, Emily and Anne, is like a Victorian tragedy with Gothic roots. In this mysterious, mythical family, there are many stories to tell, even beyond the books the sisters wrote.

This performance gives the audience an opportunity to delve into the lives and writings of the three famous women. Professor of British Literature Peter Fjågesund tells stories from the sisters' lives, which are mirrored in music by Gudrun Klakegg, Kari Lise Høgseth and Anne Lise Sydnes.

There will be lots of mystery, ghosts, death and unhappy love!

Performers: Anne-Lise Sydnes: soprano Kari Lise Høgseth: mezzo-soprano Gudrun Klakegg: piano Peter Fjågesund: professor of British literature and culture
