Denne gangen leser Karen Kjeøen Erikstad "Et dukkehjem" i to deler, lørdag 5. og søndag 6. desember kl. 15.00. Stykket ble Henrik Ibsens store internasjonale gjennombrudd da det kom ut i 1879, og settes fremdeles opp på teaterscener verden over.

A DOLL'S HOUSE
Nora lives a seemingly problem-free life with Torvald Helmer and three children. But she has a secret.
At the beginning of their marriage, Torvald was seriously ill, and the doctors thought it necessary to travel abroad to get him well. It was a very expensive trip, and Torvald believes Nora used her father's inheritance to pay for it. But Nora did not receive any money from her dying father. Instead, she took out a loan from lawyer Krogstad at the bank. To do so, she had to forge her father's signature.
Eventually, Torvald becomes the head of the bank, and dismisses attorney Krogstad. But Krogstad has exposed Nora's forgery and threatens to make it known if he is not allowed to keep his position. Nora is very distressed. When Torvald learns of the threat and Nora's forgery, he becomes furious, and shows a condescending and egocentric attitude towards Nora.
In the midst of the argument, Krogstad announces that he will not reveal the secret after all. Torvald is relieved and wants to continue the marriage as before, but Nora can no longer live with him. In the process, he has revealed that he is more concerned with avoiding scandal than being a good husband to her.
Nora realizes that she has never done any self-reflection. She has only been a tool in the hands of men. The marriage is not founded on mutual respect and understanding.
