You can now go on an Ibsen pole hunt in central Skien. Twelve posts have been set up, each telling something interesting about Skien, Henrik Ibsen and his family.

Go on the hunt and find the 12 bars

The tour takes you to where Henrik Ibsen was born, where he went to school, the three different places in the city center that the Ibsen family lived, and much more. The pole hunt runs until November 1, 2024.

Did you know that?

The texts on the pole hunt are written by Jørgen Haave at Telemark Museum. With his book "The Ibsen Family", he has discovered a lot of new information about Henrik Ibsen's upbringing. The new information refutes many of the incorrect myths about Ibsen's time in Skien.
