Has hired a project manager for Ibsen 2028

Henrik Ibsen was born in Skien on March 20, 1828, and the 200th anniversary will be marked locally, nationally and internationally. The opening of the anniversary year will take place in Skien on March 20, 2028.

Danielsen has worked with Henrik Ibsen's plays throughout much of his professional life, from the Peer Gynt play at Gålå to international productions in London, the USA and Turkey. In recent years he has been a producer for Det Norske Ibsenkompaniet, the professional theatre company led by Kåre Conradi, which produces and presents Ibsen's works in Norway and internationally.

Broad experience

Through this work, Danielsen has gained broad experience with international cultural collaboration, project management, strategic development and communicating Ibsen's themes to new audiences.

Among other things, he has worked with the Queen Sonja Print Award, led artistic productions and anniversary events, and developed seminars and lectures where Ibsen's themes are used in encounters with management, society and organizational development.

Danielsen has experience from major national and international cultural projects, including theatre, opera, anniversary celebrations, concerts and art productions. He has worked on projects in collaboration with cultural institutions, businesses, public actors and international partners, both in Norway and abroad.

Danielsen is completing an Executive Master of Management at BI Norwegian Business School this spring, with subjects in management, consulting, organizational psychology and interaction. He has a bachelor's degree in dance from KHIO – the Norwegian National Ballet Academy – and further education in project management in the cultural and entertainment industry from BI.

– Exciting expertise

Danielsen will take up a 50 percent position in May, before the position is expanded to 100 percent from August. The position will last until February 2029 and is organized under the Culture Department in Skien Municipality.

There were 32 applicants for the position.
