The new Ibsen Library and the Silver Age attracted great interest when they were presented at the 16th International Ibsen Conference in Zurich.
Ibsen experts and academics from around the world braved the heatwave and contributed new perspectives on Ibsen's writings at the 16th International Ibsen Conference in Zurich from 25-27 June. This year's theme was Ibsen's relevance and topicality in our time.
The Sølvåren Ibsen Media Center by Annette Winkelmann contributed with a presentation about the Ibsen Library and Sølvåren in the Library. The architects who designed the library have taken as their starting point central literary structures in Ibsen's plays. When we place the media installations, what we often call the experiences, in the library, it is also done in dialogue with the architecture and the symbolism and themes of the works. In this way, Ibsen's plays will be communicated to the library's users and visitors of all ages. Perhaps this will arouse curiosity and new understanding. The presentation was well received in the international Ibsen community.
The 17th conference will be held in Oslo in 2028, and will be part of the anniversary year of Henrik Ibsen's 200th anniversary.
