Every year, almost 600 children are invited to celebrate the playwright's birthday, and on March 20th, a grand birthday celebration is once again planned in the center of Skien.

The day starts as it should with a theater performance. This year, the children will meet two local actors in the performance Captain Klem and the Pirate Hunter by and with Henrik and Ingrid Bøe Larsen.

Captain Klem and the Pirate Hunter:

Finally, Captain Klem has made it ashore, ready to start a new life in safety and freedom!
But right on his heels is the most dangerous pirate hunter on the seven seas!

After the performance there will be cake and the crowning of Ibsen. The fire department will provide a ladder truck and the mayor and two lucky children will be able to join them in the lift to crown the Ibsen statue.
This has become a nice tradition that gives the kindergarten an opportunity to remember and celebrate Henrik Ibsen.
