IKAROS: Telemark Chamber Orchestra and Ragnhild Hemsing
Telemark Chamber Orchestra with artistic director Per kristian Skalstad and violinist Ragnhild Hemsing come to Ibsenhuset with a new and exciting violin concerto by Telemark composer Martin Ødegaard. The evening also offers beautiful classical music by Mendelssohn and Mozart, as well as Jean Sibelius's beautiful Suite for violin and strings and the American composer Caroline Shaw's Entr´acte. Great, beautiful and exciting music for a dark October evening!
Violinist Ragnhild Hemsing is known as an exceptionally versatile musician who plays both classical violin and harding fiddle. She has been a guest artist at all the major festivals and concert halls in Norway, and this year she was a festival musician in Bergen.
Telemark Chamber Orchestra (TKO) is a professional string ensemble that was established in 1992. The orchestra is project-based and works with musicians from the Oslo region and Telemark, both freelancers and institutional orchestras, depending on the nature of the project. TKO strives for artistic quality and growth through creative productions, and has worked purposefully to establish itself as one of the country's leading orchestras.
