Here we get to experience five of our foremost soloists in Norway: Atle Sponberg on violin, Bjarne Magnus Jensen also on violin, Jon Sønstebø on viola and cellist Audun Sandvik, in collaboration with pianist Åse Mathiesen. Together they fill the hall with tones that touch the heart - from the delightfully familiar "Autumn" by Vivaldi to the deep contemplation of Shostakovich's Piano Concerto No. 2, on to Grieg's beautiful String Quartet in G minor and then to the heavenly tranquillity of Piazzolla's "Oblivion".
Imagine a musical experience that constantly finds new forms in the encounter with art, light and visual effects. Out of this arises a new form across our traditional perceptions of what a concert experience can be. The evening's artists challenge the concert form itself in what borders on the theater's idiom and dramaturgy, here told through glimpses into one of the last century's greatest composers, Dmitri Shostakovich's life and music, Vivaldi and other beautiful classical gems. There is no action - the story is told through the distinctive and emotional character of the music in various tableaux, but through the visuals, the musical can arise in completely new ways. A thread is spun through the music's many different musical expressions into a musical storytelling - as emotionally exciting, searching and dramatic as life is - and opens up a wide range of emotional nuances.

These musicians have collaborated for many years and visited Ibsenhuset in 2023 with Vivaldi's Seasons. Now, one year later, they're bringing us Autumn again - simply because it's an excellent piece of music, adding to other autumn favorites.
Regardless of whether the composers focus on the dark or the light, the music hits us right in the heart with uncompromising power.
Welcome to a concert with a lot of joy and humor on stage - these are musicians who really offer themselves.
