Ellen Horn takes the trip to Ibsenhuset for a conversation with Trond Aarstad Jr.; about life in the theater world, Ibsen, the government quarters, the possibilities of culture and what we humans seek – but instead do. There will also be artistic features with both Ellen and guests. What is life without art and culture? Unbearable, we think Ellen Horn will answer. She has spent her life creating memorable and defining experiences in places such as the National Theatre, the Theatre at Torshov, with the Riksteatret around the country, as well as on screen and screen, and most recently in the open air with the Peer Gynt Cultural Festival. Since the 1970s, Ellen Horn has been involved in cultural life with a common thread that can only now perhaps be unraveled back in time: A possible desire to give us productions that touch something in our lives without rest, whether she has done it alone, with an ensemble or been the director of the whole thing. What does Ellen herself say? That puppetry can over time lead to becoming Minister of Culture or monumental roles like Ellen Horn did with "Undset" is something we can all reflect on - on a smaller scale. Looking back on our lives makes us easily begin to ponder a rising why? We are excited for Ellen's answer. Ibsenhuset and the audience in Telemark has over the years been enriched with great productions from the National Theatre with Ellen at the helm, as well as already forty years ago with the uncle poems by Thor Thorsen, where Ellen, together with an A-team of jazz musicians, brought the texts to life. Ibsenhuset can't let go of Ellen. We also believe that Ellen won't let go of us. Her relationship with Henrik Ibsen is intense. Ibsen talks to Ellen, and Ellen talks both to us and back to Ibsen. Henrik Ibsen has been talking for so long, both to Ellen, that we are crossing our fingers that they won't be finished talking before the Ibsen anniversary in 2028 anyway. The stage is yours, Ellen! Ellen Horn was married to jazz musician Jon Christensen (1943-2020) for many years. The children, Kjersti Horn – theater director and Emilie Stoesen Christensen – known from the band No. 4, have also made culture their lives. A variation on the apple, the tree and the cultural trunk. Welcome to an evening that puts culture first!
