The album "Til den enestes" will be released on Wednesday, March 26th and you are invited to the release concert at Teater Ibsen that same evening.
"To the Only One" is a collection of 12 poems, all written by Henrik Ibsen. The poems are set to music by Espen Gjelstad Gundersen (piano) and Hilde Norland Gundersen (vocals). Together with Frøydis Grorud (sax/flute) and Ola Otnes (text reading), they will perform on the theater's foyer stage this evening and release their album.
This group has also set Henrik Ibsen's poetry to music on several previous occasions, including the album release Markblomster og Potteplanter (2009), the concert performance Avstand & Nærhet (2020) and the theater performance Peer På Pub. Now comes a brand new release – with new arrangements.
Director Ida Høy has been central to the selection of poems, and several of the selected poems can be seen as inspired by Henrik's upbringing in Skien. Several places in this material refer to his hometown and childhood.
