The Ibsen Association, the Nordic Association and Telemark Museum invite you to an exciting lecture by Professor Emeritus Narve Fulsås! The lecture will be at the museum in Brekkeparken, Skien, Tuesday 17 March at 6 pm.
At the beginning of the 19th century, the Nordic countries were dominated by two empires, the Danish and the Swedish. By the end, the nation-state principle had taken hold. The breakthrough for the nation was shaped by the political and cultural legacy of the empire, and for Norway not least by the continued Danish linguistic and cultural dominance. How did Ibsen think about community and difference in the Nordic countries, and how did he help shape Nordic relations?
