Every year, over 500 five-year-olds are invited to celebrate the playwright's birthday, and on March 20th, a grand birthday celebration is once again planned in the center of Skien.
The children will, as expected, have a theatre performance, followed by cake and the crowning of Ibsen. The fire department will provide a ladder truck and the mayor and two lucky children will be able to join them in the lift to crown the Ibsen statue. This has become a nice tradition that gives the kindergarten an opportunity to remember and celebrate Henrik Ibsen.
